Master Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Martin Scott from San Francisco is visiting Burning Spirits Yoga and Heart of Vinyasa Yoga School for a weekend of Vinyasa Yoga intensives, guest teaching and Vinyasa Yoga Workshops. Don’t miss this special weekend!
Do you love the flow, surrender and challenge of a good vinyasa class but wonder if you are getting the full benefit from each pose? Sometimes the pace of a vinyasa class does not allow us space to fully understand each pose and how to do them efficiently. Come learn techniques to avoid the most common yoga injuries (wrists, shoulders, hamstrings) and prepare for a long-term, intelligent Vinyasa practice. We will explore the poses of The Vinyasa, learn to use the core to support you in all the poses and study their alignments.
Join Martin Scott, for an afternoon of exploring the foundations of a flow and studying the poses of the Vinyasa and Surya Namaskar A Sun Salutation practice. This workshop is open to all, regardless of experience level. Refine your practice to continue your yoga journey for your lifetime!
ALL Levels and Beginners WELCOME
BSY and Martin are offering 2 scholarship slots, attend for $15. EMAIL TO APPLY email@example.com

Kirtan is an ancient form of mantra meditation and a main component of bhakti-yoga (the yoga of devotion), which has the power to open and purify the heart. The practice of kirtan is done as a group, singing sacred sanskrit syllables in a call and response fashion. Accompanied by instruments and percussion, this collective chanting of sacred sounds allows one’s body to relax, mind to become peaceful, & soul to sweetly reconnect to spirit. In its heartfelt expression kirtan can induce profound states of meditation, bliss, and esctasy, and sometimes - even dance.
No experience is ever necessary. Open to all and everyone! That means bring everyone in the family who is OK sitting on the floor and chanting! This is a donation based event - please bring cash to donate the day of the kirtan. Suggested donation $10-15

We often look to the outside world to help us become centered. We use our eyes to find our drishti in our asana practice, helping us to be focused and balanced physically and mentally. What if we could find this focus within? In this workshop we will start with mantra and pranayama to get grounded and centered. This will prepare us to do our asana practice with the eyes closed, using the inner light and balance to guide us through.
Where our gaze is directed, our attention naturally follows. Follow the path to your soul.

This set therapeutic sequence is a progression of postures which promote both strength and flexibility. These postures and the vinyasas between them build internal heat . It is said that the practice has significant benefits on a number of levels. Mentally, the primary series builds willpower, focus and mind-body awareness. Physically, it strengthens, improves flexibility and detoxifies the organs. Energetically, the poses clear obstacles to free the flow of energy in the nadis, or energy channels of the body. In this workshop we will go over the basic method of Ashtanga yoga and break apart aspects of the series. Sun salutations, transitions , peak poses and inversions.

Yogis discovered that humans experience prana in the form of a wave a wave of energy, sensation, and feelings. In order to learn to attune to the wisdom of the breath and the prana body, we need to learn how to "ride the wave of breath," how to be present for the wavelike movement of energy acknowledging, experiencing, and bearing the inner world of sensation. In this workshop we will investigate the different energies with breath and movement , finding the spaciousness with deep awareness with breath bandhas(enery locks) and dristhi(eye gaze). we will look at fundamental asanas, inversions, transitioning, breathing practices and meditation.
Some yoga experience recommended
But everyone welcome
I invite you to join me for Yoga Bija Vinyasa.
We’ll open practice with a meditative heart-mind coherence, moving into a fluid heart opening movement (Asana) practice and seal our time with a deeply rejuvenating shivasa with (optional) therapeutic craniosacral adjustments to calm and reset the healing systems of the body.
What is Yoga Bija?
Yoga Bija (starting point/ origin space of all creation and vibratory resonance) is a mosaic of all movement, physical and energetic, sacred and elemental, intuitive and structured, fluid and static. It’s a mantra, mudra (full body and hand), mindfulness meditation based approach to strength, length, flexibility and is geared towards release of old rigid thought, emotion, and action patterns, while easing in new pathways to travel and refine. Encourages freedom and peace in all aspects of mind, body, spirit- beginning within and manifesting outwards. Geared towards all those interested in cultivating space for life (breath, spirit, prana) to flow in and out with ease, beauty, and truth through an empowering Slow Flow Yoga practice with Yin style release weaved in throughout, honoring the natural rhythm of life, of breath, of heart...work/rest, expand/contract, life/death that sets a nurturing tone to the nervous system.
Curious about or new to yoga...? Great!
No experience necessary! All levels/ no levels. Come as you are. All are welcome. Bring a friend~
Investigate The Body – Level Up Your Practice

you have for movement. We will ask questions, test our answers, apply the use of physics, and arm
ourselves with props to not only make the poses more accessible, but to challenge ourselves. To
keep the body safe and happy, we will cover proper warm-up and recovery poses.
