Our beginner’s workshop is great for those new to yoga, those returning, or those who just want more individualized attention. It is hosted by the amazingly knowledgable & supportive Sandee Lawless. This workshop is kept very small with only 6 warriors at a time in order to give each person extra attention and the opportunity to ask questions. You must pre-register!

We often look to the outside world to help us become centered.  We use our eyes to find our drishti in our asana practice, helping us to be focused and balanced physically and mentally.  What if we could find this focus within?  In this workshop we will start with mantra and pranayama to get grounded and centered.  This will prepare us to do our asana practice with the eyes closed, using the inner light and balance to guide us through.

This set therapeutic sequence  is a progression of postures which promote both strength and flexibility. These postures and the vinyasas between them build internal heat  . It is said that the practice has significant benefits on a number of levels. Mentally, the primary series builds willpower, focus and mind-body awareness. Physically, it strengthens, improves flexibility and detoxifies the organs. Energetically, the poses clear obstacles to free the flow of energy in the nadis, or energy channels of the body. In this workshop we will go over the basic method of Ashtanga yoga and break apart aspects of the series. Sun salutations, transitions , peak poses and inversions. 

Yoga has been a part of Khristines life for over 13 years, and The practice has helped her grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires her to live in the moment more mindfully and aware.She believes through this awareness we get to see our selfs and the world more clearly. she is eternally grateful for the refuge of the practice

Yogis discovered that humans experience prana in the form of a wave a wave of energy, sensation, and feelings. In order to learn to attune to the wisdom of the breath and the prana body, we need to learn how to "ride the wave of breath," how to be present for the wavelike movement of energy acknowledging, experiencing, and bearing the inner world of sensation. In this workshop we will investigate the different energies with breath and movement , finding the spaciousness with deep awareness with breath bandhas(enery locks) and dristhi(eye gaze). we will look at fundamental asanas, inversions, transitioning, breathing practices and meditation.

What is Yoga Bija? 

Yoga Bija (starting point/ origin space of all creation and vibratory resonance) is a mosaic of all movement, physical and energetic, sacred and elemental, intuitive and structured, fluid and static. It’s a mantra, mudra (full body and hand), mindfulness meditation based approach to strength, length, flexibility and is geared towards release of old rigid thought, emotion, and action patterns, while easing in new pathways to travel and refine. Encourages freedom and peace in all aspects of mind, body, spirit- beginning within and manifesting outwards. Geared towards all those interested in cultivating space for life (breath, spirit, prana) to flow in and out with ease, beauty, and truth through an empowering Slow Flow Yoga practice with Yin style release weaved in throughout, honoring the natural rhythm of life, of breath, of heart...work/rest, expand/contract, life/death that sets a nurturing tone to the nervous system.

To honor the darkest time of the year, April will be leading us through 108 Moon Salutations to the deepest, darkest grooves you never even knew you wanted to flow to. Movements will build up slowly with modifications for all levels and plenty of opportunities for rest (we’re getting through all 108 as a sangha, not all on our own). Get your body moving, warm up those cold bones, and give yourself over to the darkness.
